Westlake Ace Hardware Officially Opens Overland Park Store

Grand opening events and a sale – to be held Sept. 20-22 – will celebrate the opening of the retailer’s 30^th store in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (September 16, 2024) – The new Westlake Ace Hardware at 6327 W. 119th Street, in Overland Park, Ks. (in the former Sears Home & Life store) will formally open its doors with a “board cutting” and other grand opening events from September 20-22. The weekend’s festivities will also be an opportunity to introduce the new store’s general manager, Cindy Kowalewski, to the community.

The new 12,000 sq. ft. store is Westlake Ace Hardware’s 30^th location in the greater Kansas City metropolitan region. It offers various products including lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing, and electrical supplies. Services include automotive key cutting, key fob replacement, Stihl outdoor power equipment repair, carpet cleaning machine rental, and propane tank exchange.

The store also features several specialty departments and store-within-a-store concepts, selling such leading brands as:

Weber, Traeger, Big Green Egg, Blackstone, and Ooni grills and accessories
DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Craftsman power tools
Diablo saw blades and power tool accessories
Benjamin Moore and Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines paints
EGO, Milwaukee, Stihl, and Toro outdoor power equipment
Seasonal live goods, Scotts, and Miracle-Gro lawn and plant care products
Yeti coolers, drinkware, and accessories

Board Cutting and Grand Opening Celebrations

A ceremonial board-cutting by Westlake Ace leadership and Overland Park dignitaries will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19. Light breakfast bites will be served.
On Saturday, September 21, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., the grand opening celebration event will include vendor demonstrations, free prize drawings, refreshments, free kids’ activities, and more.
A “Celebration Sale” will be held September 20-22, during which customers will receive 20 percent off most purchases.

General Manager Cindy Kowalewski joined the Westlake Ace team in 2001. Before accepting the position to manage the new store, she worked at several other Westlake Ace locations in the Kansas City area.
