Ace Hardware Hacks – QUICK FIX BROKEN OR PUNCTURED HOSE

Hey, it’s Steven.

There’s nothing worse than finding a leak in your hose right when it’s time to water. Today, we’re going to talk through two options for fixing a hose, whether it’s perforated in the middle or broken at the end. As you can see on this hose, there’s a small puncture in the middle. No worries—this is an easy fix. First, shut the water off, then cut out the section with the hole.

Next, slide each side of the bracket onto the cut ends of the hose. For this next part, it might be easier to lubricate the inside of the hose first. Then, insert the center connector onto both sides of the hose. Once both ends are touching the middle connector, slide the brackets over the top and tighten them with a screwdriver.

What about a damaged end on your hose that doesn’t allow attachments to screw on? The process for fixing it is very similar. Cut off the end cleanly until you have a flat section of hose. Push the new end piece into the cut end of the hose. Finally, slide the bracket back in place and tighten it down.
