Bacon Double Cheeseburger Pizza Using an Ooni Pizza Oven
How to Bake a Bacon Double Cheeseburger Pizza in Less than Two Minutes
Pizza is a culinary art form created in the Neapolitan region of Italy. While America didn’t necessarily invent the “hamburger” as a sandwich, we think it’s safe to say that modern America essentially perfected this beefy art form of over-indulgence. No other sandwich embodies the ideal of excess like the Bacon Double Cheeseburger.
Our friends at Ooni Pizza ovens decided to combine both culinary art forms in a pizza that should satisfy both types of people who love artisanal culinary expression and super-sized filling meals. It’s the best of both worlds! This recipe makes a single 12/16″ pizza, so if you’re entertaining with your Ooni oven, safe to say that you might want to double the ingredient amounts. So…on to our pizza recipe.

- 8.8/11.6oz (250/330 g) classic pizza dough ball
- 5 tbsp (90 ml) classic pizza sauce

- 1.5oz (50 g) American cheese, cut into small pieces

- 1 dill pickle, sliced crosswise
- 3 lettuce leaves, finely shredded
For the burger sauce:
- 4 tbsp (80ml) mayonnaise

- 2 tsp (10g) sugar
- 1 tbsp (20ml) white wine vinegar
- 1 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp (20ml) Dijon mustard
Preparation Steps for this Bacon Double Cheeseburger Pizza
Prepare your classic pizza dough and classic pizza sauce ahead of time. We recommend the Urban Slicer Outdoor Grilling Pizza Dough pack.
For the burger sauce, combine all ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
Preheat your Ooni pizza oven to 500 ̊C (932 ̊F). Use the Ooni Infrared Thermometer to check the temperature inside the oven.
Sprinkle your Ooni pizza peel with a light dusting of flour. Place the dough ball down and flatten with the
palm of your hand. Press the dough gently with the tips of your fingers, working from the center to the
outer “crust”. Gently pick up the dough and stretch it out to 12 or 16”, allowing the weight of the dough
to stretch it.
